About Embraer (ERJ)
Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica S.A. (NYSE:ERJ) manufactures and markets commercial, corporate, and defense aircraft. The company also provides maintenance and repair services and markets spare parts for its jets. Embraer markets its aircraft primarily to commercial airlines and governments globally.
Embraer is the world’s biggest producer of regional planes for 70 to 122 passengers, but faces increased competition in emerging markets. In developed markets, industry leaders Boeing Co (BA) and Airbus (EADSY) are equipping their top-selling planes with new engines offering greater fuel efficiency, while Bombardier is developing a C-Series jet in the 100- to 149-seat long-range jet category dominated by the larger rivals. Meanwhile, Embraer is evaluating a new family of jets or an upgrade of its biggest aircraft, the Embraer 195 to compete in the larger, longer-distance travel market.
Hear how the company’s strategy is working as Embraer plane order backlogs continue to grow.
